Visitors - Dress Code
DRESS CODE and the use of MOBILE PHONES at Dunbar Golf Club
DRESS CODE
Members and visitors are asked to ensure that they conform to a decent, neat and clean standard of dress and footwear both on and off the course.
The following are ACCEPTABLE in the Clubhouse:
- Denim Jeans – must be neat & tidy, uniform colour and free from any fraying, holes, rips or tears
- Golf shoes with soft spikes – must be clean
The following are UNACCEPTABLE within the Clubhouse apart from changing rooms:
- Wet clothing
- Hats/caps/visors
- Golf shoes with metal spikes
The following are UNACCEPTABLE in the Clubhouse or on the Golf Course:
- Football or Rugby Tops and shorts
- Beach attire
- Collarless shirts
- Vests
- Track suits
Tailored crew/turtle neck shirts specifically designed for golf are not categorised as collarless shirts and are acceptable. It is requested that shirts be tucked into trousers. Tailored shorts/tailored single coloured cargo shorts are also acceptable in the Clubhouse and Golf Course.
The following must NOT be worn on the Golf Course:
- Sleeveless Shirts (not designed for golf)
- Blue Denim Jeans
The dress code in the Clubhouse does not apply to children under 10 years of age.
In line with this notice, Dunbar Golf Club Council and Staff reserve the right to determine which attire meets our Dress Code policy.
MOBILE PHONES
Unless it is an emergency, use is PROHIBITED while on the course or practice putting green.
In the Clubhouse mobile phones may be switched on subject to them being on silent mode. If a call is received the recipient must move immediately to one of the areas where the use of mobile phones is permitted, namely the Porch at the Main Entrance or the area between the Captains Lounge and the Gents Locker Room.
